This is a 3D printed version I created from an original wooden model that I had bought some years ago from a small shop in Northern France. The original wooden model had strings attached and was designed to hand from the ceiling as a mobile. I had it hanging in my kitchen and it had become so dusty and sticky that I decided to maintain the flying pose, but revamp it as a standing model. So by measuring everything – more or less by eye – and making practical adaptations, this is the result. I changed the colours from black and grey to dark blue and orange. Everything is printed in PLA using seven colours – including neutral for the stand. But the wings are foam sheet.

In the light of everything that's going on now, I wonder if this is now a non-PC model. But then I think it's a case of the eye of the beholder.
