[Solved] Filament reels cannot be installed on new Cel-Robox

Topic starter

Hi Folks, I have an old and a brand new Robox RBX-02.  I opened the new RBX-02 yesterday and tried to install Cel-Robox filament reels that work fine on my 2+ year old RBX-02.  Installing a reel on the new unit was 'tight' and required some pushing and jiggling to get the reel on. I tried another Polar white reel with the same results, but I could install the #1 reel. For the 2nd reel I installed the provided adapter and attempted to slip the reel onto it. No-go.  If I press the spring loaded reel holder things in/out they seem a little tight but should not be a problem.  Is this known manufacturing/design issue with the new unit's reel holders?  Any easy solution?  I'll be printing an external reel holder in the meantime.

A very few reel adapters and hubs have slightly too long pins on them. This makes it hard to get the reels on and off. Try pushing the pins in if you can while installing the reel, or try putting one side on first.

If that doesn't work, you should open a support ticket to get further assistance.

Thanks Ben, I'll file it today.

Robox is a complex machine with many potential uses, to help preserve the good working order of both hardware and software please be patient and note that many common fixes for other 3D printers do not apply to Robox and may cause irreversible damage or compromise safe operation.
